Activists from around the country gathered at Wayne State in Detroit Nov. 11-13 to work on a program for reversing the growing crisis of urban areas. The UAW, and AFL-CIO were represented at the meeting. The theme was "Feed the cities, starve the Pentagon," and called for a strong position against the war in Iraq and Afghanistan .
